Oasis Homewares at Souk

The mobile designer Homewares store that comes to your door.

Well, here we are again and ready for a fabulous Oasis Spring Summer 2013. I want to
share with you where I drew my colour inspiration for this exciting new collection, which
I really believe is our best ever.
I was lucky enough to go for an adventure holiday in North Africa to Morocco with my
husband. OMG - as soon as I saw all the amazing colour popping palettes and combinations
I thought WOW, I have to do these colours for our next summer collection!
Morocco is not shy about colour. The white washed walls, natural coloured weave baskets, the colours of the
intricate designs of the tiles which adorn many surfaces inside and outside, the rich colours of the rugs, the colours
of the exotic spice markets right through to the colours they are dying leather with
using ancient techniques at their tannery - it’s all about colour, colour and
more colour!
The walls in Morocco are more than often white washed with these accents
of rich reds, burnt oranges, cobalt blues, saffron yellows, emerald greens and
the effect is amazing. In Fez we were surrounded by these ancient colourful
tiles everywhere, but it was in Marrakesh where we went to the Majorelle
Gardens designed by the famous fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent that
these colours just popped in this green Oasis of cacti. The bold cobalt blue
named Majorelle Blue was used extensively on the buildings with colour
splashes of green, yellow, red and orange used as window trims and pots
around the gardens and fountains.
I have translated this fantastic colour palette into our 2013 Summer Oasis collection of eco-friendly bamboo, rattan
and even our metal designer Homewares. These colours are just perfect for our Australian summer and look fabulous
for summer entertaining both indoor and outdoor.
I hope that as you flick through this catalogue you will not only feel like you’ve been transported on a trip to
Morocco, but, with the help of our fabulous Oasis Design Consultants YOU
can easily transform your home into a Moroccan Oasis.
